Councils

FAMILY COUNCIL

• The council provides mutual support, empowerment and advocacy for the residents
  
  
• This is composed of family and friends of the residents of Chester Village
  
  
• The Social Service Coordinator sits in on the meeting to provide information to the council as needed and also relays information back to the management team
  
  
• Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of the month
  
  
• This council provides an opportunity to request education and information related to long-term care and a way to express concerns and solve problems

RESIDENTS' COUNCIL

• Residents' of Chester Village actively participate in decisions that are made affecting their meaningful living at Chester Village through the Resident Council.
  
  
• The council meets once a month to recognize and address issues and concerns of the Residents living at Chester Village
  
  
• Members of the Residents' council are all residents of Chester Village and are selected through a Resident election process
  
  
• All new residents are informed about the council on admission to Chester Village and encouraged to participate.
